GCN5 (also known as KAT2A) is the catalytic acetyltransferase subunit of the SAGA and ATAC multiprotein complexes, where it deposits acetyl groups on lysine residues of histones H3 and H2B to remodel chromatin and drive transcriptional activation. This unconjugated Rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against GCN5 and is supplied as 100 µL of ready-to-use polyclonal antiserum for laboratories studying epigenetic gene regulation, nuclear receptor coactivator biology, and chromatin signaling.

The antibody has been validated for western blot detection of endogenous GCN5 in cell and tissue lysates, immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections, and ELISA-based binding assays. It is reactive with both human and mouse samples, supporting work in patient-derived specimens and in standard murine model systems. Common applications include probing the link between histone acetylation and cancer biology, mapping transcription factor-coactivator recruitment at gene promoters, and analyzing how chromatin modification states shift in response to metabolic or developmental cues.

Shipped as a single vial, the reagent should be stored frozen at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protected from light. For research use only; not intended for diagnostic, therapeutic, or clinical applications.
