The GCM1 target, also known as glial cells missing transcription factor 1, plays a central role in trophoblast differentiation and placental morphogenesis. This polyclonal reagent was raised in rabbit against the human GCM1 sequence and is supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated preparation at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, delivered in a 100 µl vial.
Validated applications include western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence on human samples. Researchers commonly deploy this reagent to investigate syncytiotrophoblast formation, chorionic villus branching, and disorders of placental insufficiency such as pre-eclampsia, as well as GCM1 expression patterns in trophoblast-derived cell lines. Aliquot upon receipt and store the glycerol stock frozen in single-use portions to limit freeze-thaw cycles; working dilutions remain stable for short-term refrigerated use. Avoid sodium azide carryover in live-cell staining buffers when downstream fluorescence imaging is required.
