Glucokinase regulatory protein (GCKR) is a hepatic regulator that sequesters glucokinase in the hepatocyte nucleus through a fructose-6-phosphate-sensitive binding equilibrium, releasing the enzyme into the cytoplasm when carbohydrate intake rises. From Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal reagent supports research into the GCK-GCKR axis, fasting-to-fed glucose transitions, and the well-characterised GWAS links between GCKR variation and serum triglyceride levels in metabolic disease cohorts.
Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum with storage at -20°C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, the antibody is validated for western blot analysis of endogenous GCKR and immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed tissue, with confirmed reactivity on both human and mouse samples. The polyclonal format expands epitope coverage, which is helpful when tracking tissue-specific expression patterns, subcellular redistribution of the regulatory complex, or co-immunoprecipitation experiments with glucokinase and other interacting partners in liver and pancreatic models.
