Targeting the rate-limiting enzyme of tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4) biosynthesis, this unconjugated rabbit polyclonal IgG from Antibodies.com recognizes human GTP cyclohydrolase 1 (GCH1), a protein of central interest in neurotransmitter synthesis, phenylalanine catabolism, and nitric oxide signaling research. GCH1 catalyzes the conversion of GTP to dihydroneopterin triphosphate, and loss-of-function mutations in the underlying gene are linked to Segawa syndrome (DOPA-responsive dystonia, DYT5a) and to hyperphenylalaninemia phenotypes.

Validated for Western blot detection of the human target, the reagent is supplied as a 200 µl aliquot and is appropriate for protein-level confirmation of endogenous GCH1 expression across tissues and cell lines relevant to BH4 biology, including neuronal, hepatic, and endothelial systems. Research groups investigating GCH1 haplotype associations with pain sensitivity, dopamine pathway regulation, and endothelial nitric oxide synthase coupling will find this polyclonal reagent useful in standard immunoblotting workflows.
