Grancalcin (GCA) is a calcium-binding protein of the EF-hand family expressed predominantly in neutrophils, monocytes, and certain epithelia, where it contributes to cytoskeletal remodeling, cell adhesion, and migration. This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and is unconjugated, allowing flexible pairing with secondary detection chemistries. The antibody recognizes human and mouse GCA, supporting parallel work across model systems and clinical samples.

The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of liquid at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as cryoprotectant, suitable for immediate dilution into standard blocking and wash buffers. Validated applications include Western blot detection of endogenous grancalcin from cell and tissue lysates, immunohistochemistry on fixed sections, and immunofluorescence staining for subcellular localization studies. For Western blot, samples can be prepared in standard reducing Laemmli buffer and probed after transfer to PVDF or nitrocellulose membranes. The unconjugated format pairs cleanly with HRP- or fluorophore-labeled anti-rabbit secondaries, and the polyclonal nature of the reagent targets multiple epitopes on the GCA protein, increasing the likelihood of detection even when a single epitope is masked by SDS-denatured sample preparation.

Storage at -20 °C in small working aliquots is recommended to minimize freeze-thaw cycles and preserve activity; the included 0.1% sodium azide inhibits microbial growth for routine bench use. Researchers investigating neutrophil biology, inflammatory cell recruitment, or the molecular basis of adhesion-related disease models will find this antibody a targeted reagent for both qualitative localization and comparative expression studies across human and mouse samples.
