Anti-GBP1 Antibody

Guanylate Binding Protein 1 (GBP1) is an interferon-gamma-inducible GTPase central to innate immune defence, where it helps human cells restrict intracellular pathogens such as Toxoplasma gondii, Chlamydia trachomatis, and several enveloped viruses. This unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against the human GBP1 protein and is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a stabiliser, packaged as a 50 µl vial that supports many small-scale experiments. Validated applications include Western blot for monitoring GBP1 upregulation in IFN-gamma-stimulated cell lines, immunofluorescence for visualising recruitment to the Golgi apparatus and to pathogen-containing vacuoles, and immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed tissue sections to characterise GBP1 expression in inflammatory lesions and in tumour microenvironments. The polyclonal format broadens epitope coverage, which can be helpful when working with cleavage products or post-translationally modified GBP1 species.
