Anti-GATA1 (Ab-142) Antibody

GATA1 is a zinc-finger transcription factor that governs erythroid and megakaryocytic lineage commitment by binding the WGATAR DNA motif in target gene promoters. This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com was raised against a synthetic peptide spanning the region around residue 142 of human GATA1, a site located within the N-terminal zinc finger that mediates contacts with DNA and the cofactor FOG-1. The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated polyclonal preparation, suited for western blot detection of endogenous GATA1 in nuclear extracts, immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed tissue sections, and immunofluorescence staining of cultured cells. It cross-reacts with the mouse and rat orthologues, supporting translational studies of erythropoiesis, megakaryocyte maturation, and disease models such as Down syndrome–associated acute megakaryoblastic leukemia. For western blot, typical loading is 20-30 µg of whole-cell or nuclear lysate per lane, with primary incubation overnight at 4°C.
