This mouse monoclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH), a highly conserved cytosolic enzyme of approximately 37 kDa that catalyzes the sixth step of glycolysis. The unconjugated IgG clone AC002 is supplied as a 200 µl liquid vial and is validated for Western Blot (WB) and Immunoprecipitation (IP) applications on human, mouse, and rat samples.

Because GAPDH is expressed constitutively at relatively stable levels across most tissues and cell lines, this reagent is routinely deployed as an internal loading control to normalize target band intensity when probing whole-cell lysates by western blot. Cross-reactivity with the mouse and rat orthologs, in addition to the human protein, makes it a practical loading control for comparative studies that span multiple model systems, while the unconjugated format leaves detection chemistry open so researchers can pair it with HRP-, alkaline phosphatase-, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies of their choice.

For western blot, the antibody detects the expected band near 37 kDa on standard SDS-PAGE gels. Immunoprecipitation workflows can be performed with Protein A or G agarose beads using a mouse IgG-compatible pull-down protocol. Refrigerate the vial upon arrival and aliquot into smaller working volumes to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve binding activity across the shelf life of the reagent.
