Anti-GAPDH (1A6) Antibody

This Mouse monoclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com targets glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH), a highly conserved glycolytic enzyme expressed in virtually all eukaryotic cells. Cloned from the 1A6 hybridoma and conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRP), it is supplied as a 100 µl aliquot in a single-use vial at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, ready for direct chemiluminescent detection without secondary antibody incubation.

The reagent is validated for western blot (WB) applications and is routinely used as a loading control to normalize total protein input across lanes, since GAPDH expression is constitutive across the seven reactive species listed: human, mouse, rabbit, frog, fish, chicken, and rat. Its broad cross-species reactivity makes it a practical housekeeping reference for comparative studies that span multiple model organisms in a single blot.

Refrigerate upon receipt; for longer term, aliquot and freeze at -20°C in a frost-free freezer to minimize freeze-thaw cycles, which can degrade the HRP conjugate. Sodium azide in the formulation inhibits microbial growth but does not interfere with HRP activity.
