Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) is a ~37 kDa cytosolic enzyme that catalyzes a key step in glycolysis and is constitutively expressed across virtually all cell types, which is why it is the standard loading-control target in Western blot normalization. Antibodies.com offers this anti-GAPDH reagent as a mouse monoclonal antibody (clone 1A6) in unconjugated format, validated for ELISA, Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence applications.

The antibody cross-reacts with GAPDH from human, mouse, rat, rabbit, chicken, frog, and fish samples, allowing consistent loading-control performance across comparative animal-model and cell-line studies. Supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, the 100 µl vial provides ample reagent for dozens of blot, slide, or plate assays.

Because the reagent is unconjugated, researchers can pair it with HRP-conjugated, biotinylated, fluorophore-labeled, or alkaline phosphatase-conjugated secondary antibodies according to their preferred detection chemistry. Detection yields a characteristic band at approximately 37 kDa in whole-cell lysates and tissue homogenates run under reducing conditions. For short-term use, keep the vial refrigerated; for longer storage, aliquot to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light to preserve antibody activity.
