Raised in rabbit against the phosphorylated serine 41 residue of Growth Associated Protein 43 (GAP43), this unconjugated polyclonal IgG reagent is supplied by Antibodies.com as a 100 µl volume. GAP43 is a neuronal membrane-associated phosphoprotein enriched in developing and regenerating axons, where phosphorylation at Ser41 modulates calmodulin binding and growth-cone signaling. The antibody is validated for immunofluorescence (IF) on human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting studies of neurite outgrowth, synaptic remodeling, and injury-induced axonal sprouting in fixed cells and tissue sections.

Because the reagent targets a phosphorylated epitope, phosphatase inhibitors are recommended during sample preparation to preserve the Ser41 modification. Researchers commonly apply it to cultured primary neurons, organotypic brain slices, and dorsal root ganglion explants to monitor regenerative responses, and to characterize neuronal differentiation in iPSC-derived models. The unconjugated format allows flexible pairing with fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies for multiplex imaging, and the polyclonal nature provides tolerance for minor epitope variations across species. Store the vial refrigerated and protected from light between uses.
