Anti-GAP43 Antibody

A rabbit polyclonal antibody to GAP43, offered by Antibodies.com, was raised against a recombinant construct corresponding to the C-terminal of rodent GAP43, coupled to KLH. The unconjugated IgG reagent is validated for WB, ICC/IF and IHC and reacts with Human, Horse, Bovine, Porcine, Rat and Mouse samples.

The antibody binds strongly to growth cones and axonal processes of neurons in cell culture and to synaptic regions in sectioned material. It is supplied at 1 mg/ml in Phosphate Buffered Saline with 50% Glycerol and 5mM Sodium Azide and has been purified by immunogen affinity. The target protein has a molecular weight of ~43 kDa by SDS-PAGE.

Recommended dilutions are WB: 1:10,000, ICC/IF: 1:1,000 and IHC: 1:1,000. The product is shipped at 4°C; upon delivery it should be aliquoted and stored at -20°C, with freeze/thaw cycles avoided. GAP43 antibodies are commonly used as neuronal markers and Schwann cell markers, and the protein is also known as Axonal membrane protein GAP-43, Growth-associated protein 43, Neural phosphoprotein B-50, Neuromodulin and pp46.
