This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com recognizes galanin receptor type 1 (GALR1), a G protein-coupled receptor widely studied for its roles in nociception, feeding behaviour, and neuroendocrine signalling within the central nervous system. Supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, the antibody is unconjugated and validated for Western blot detection in human, mouse, and rat samples.

Each vial contains 100 µl of the primary antibody, enough for multiple immunoblotting runs when titrated against endogenous receptor expression in transfected controls and native tissue lysates. The polyclonal format allows recognition of several epitopes on the GALR1 protein, which can strengthen signal capture in tissues where receptor abundance is limited. Researchers investigating hypothalamic regulation of appetite, spinal cord signalling in chronic pain models, or distribution of neuropeptide receptors across brain regions frequently use this reagent to probe membrane-enriched fractions separated by SDS-PAGE.

For best results, store refrigerated and protect from light; aliquot if extended storage is planned to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The sodium azide preservative keeps the preparation stable for routine bench handling. The host species is rabbit, allowing pairing with commonly available anti-rabbit HRP or fluorescent secondary reagents during downstream detection. This is a research use only product.
