This rabbit-derived polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets N-acetylgalactosamine-6-sulfatase (GALNS), a lysosomal sulfatase responsible for hydrolyzing sulfate esters on keratan sulfate and chondroitin-6-sulfate glycosaminoglycans. Raised in rabbit hosts and supplied as an unconjugated antiserum, the antibody is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows across human, mouse, and rat samples.

GALNS deficiency is the molecular cause of the autosomal recessive lysosomal storage disorder mucopolysaccharidosis type IVA, clinically known as Morquio A syndrome, making dependable detection reagents useful for studies of enzyme replacement therapy, glycosaminoglycan accumulation in cartilage and connective tissue, and biomarker characterization in patient-derived fibroblasts or relevant animal disease models.

Each vial contains 100 µL of ready-to-use reagent with no reporter tag attached, allowing flexible pairing with horseradish peroxidase- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies for chromogenic or fluorescent detection. Researchers commonly apply the preparation to paraffin-embedded tissue sections for IHC localization of GALNS expression and to whole-cell lysates for Western blot confirmation of protein levels across species.
