This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets GALNS (galactosamine-N-acetyl-6-sulfatase), a lysosomal exohydrolase that removes 6-sulfate groups from N-acetyl-D-galactosamine residues during glycosaminoglycan catabolism. Mutations in the GALNS gene cause Mucopolysaccharidosis type IVA (Morquio A syndrome), making this reagent valuable for studies of lysosomal storage disorders and cartilage biology.

The unconjugated antibody is raised in rabbit and validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry across human, mouse, and rat samples. It is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a 100 µl aliquot. For routine handling, refrigerate at 4°C to preserve activity; the glycerol content protects against freeze-thaw damage during occasional short-term storage below freezing.

Researchers working on keratan sulfate turnover, chondrocyte function, or lysosomal enzyme trafficking can apply this reagent to track endogenous GALNS expression in tissue sections and cell lysates. The polyclonal format increases the likelihood of recognizing multiple epitopes on the target, which can be advantageous when probing for full-length versus processed forms of the sulfatase.
