Galactokinase 1 (GALK1) is the first enzyme of the Leloir pathway, phosphorylating galactose to galactose-1-phosphate during carbohydrate metabolism, and loss-of-function mutations in the gene cause classic galactosemia type II. This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com was raised in rabbit against recombinant human GALK1 and is supplied as 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml stock in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. Unconjugated and azide-stabilized, it is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunocytochemistry workflows across human, mouse, and rat samples. Researchers studying hepatic galactose handling, inherited metabolic disorders, or carbohydrate-processing enzymes can pair the antibody with standard HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondaries for chromogenic or fluorescence detection in fixed tissue sections and whole-cell lysates.
