Anti-GALK1 Antibody

Raised in rabbit against human galactokinase 1 (GALK1), this unconjugated polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as 100 µl of liquid polyclonal serum and is validated for Western blot detection of endogenous GALK1 in human and mouse samples. GALK1 catalyzes the ATP-dependent phosphorylation of α-D-galactose to galactose-1-phosphate, the first committed step of the Leloir pathway, so laboratories studying galactose metabolism, classical galactosemia type II, or cataracts linked to galactitol accumulation in the lens use this reagent to compare expression in wild-type and knockout tissue lysates.
