Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this primary antibody is a mouse monoclonal reagent raised against the endogenous Galectin-3 protein and supplied as an unconjugated, affinity-purified IgG1 preparation at 1.0 mg/mL in a 100 µL volume. It is validated for use in Western blot (WB), immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence (ICC/IF) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows, and reacts specifically with the human Galectin-3 target, making it a useful reagent for cancer, fibrosis and immunology research programs that probe β-galactoside-binding lectin expression. The clone is generated in mouse and purified from ascites or hybridoma supernatant by affinity chromatography using the immunogen, then formulated in phosphate-buffered saline (without Mg²⁺ and Ca²⁺) at pH 7.4 with 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant. For everyday handling, the vial is shipped at 4 °C; upon receipt, researchers should aliquot the material and store it at –20 °C, taking care to avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles that can compromise antibody activity. The unconjugated format leaves the user free to choose their preferred secondary detection system — HRP, biotin, Alexa Fluor or other labels — depending on whether chromogenic IHC, fluorescence imaging or chemiluminescent Western detection is being performed. As supplied by Antibodies.com, this anti-Galectin-3 antibody is intended strictly for research use only and is not validated for diagnostic or therapeutic applications, so it should be cited accordingly in publications and grant reports.
