The Antibodies.com Anti-GALE polyclonal reagent is a rabbit-host antibody raised against UDP-galactose-4-epimerase, the enzyme that interconverts UDP-galactose and UDP-glucose in the Leloir pathway of galactose metabolism. Supplied as an unconjugated preparation at 100 µl per vial, it is validated for Western blot and immunofluorescence workflows on human samples and finds use in studies of carbohydrate metabolism, glycosylation disorders, and the molecular pathology of type III galactosemia, in which loss-of-function GALE mutations impair galactose-1-phosphate handling. The polyclonal antibody supports detection of endogenous GALE protein in cell lysates and fixed cells, enabling readouts of enzyme expression in metabolic-disease models and in cancer cell lines where altered galactose utilization has been reported.
