Galanin (GAL) is a neuropeptide widely expressed by central and peripheral nervous system neurons, where it contributes to nociception, feeding behavior, memory processing, and neuroendocrine signaling. This Antibodies.com reagent is a rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against the GAL peptide, supplied as an unconjugated IgG preparation in a 200 µl vial ready for chromogenic or fluorescence immunohistochemistry workflows. The polyclonal IgG backbone supports recognition of multiple epitopes across the galanin sequence, which is useful for mapping peptide distribution in dorsal root ganglia, hypothalamic nuclei, spinal cord sections, and enteric nervous system preparations. The antibody is listed for IHC application on rat tissue, and because it is unconjugated, researchers can pair it with their preferred HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-labeled secondary reagent to match existing staining protocols. Storage and handling should follow standard polyclonal IgG practice: aliquot upon receipt to limit freeze-thaw cycles and store the working stock refrigerated for short-term use, with the bulk vial kept frozen for long-term retention of activity. Research use only.
