Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this affinity-purified polyclonal reagent is raised in rabbit against a recombinant human GAD2 immunogen and is supplied as an unconjugated, ready-to-use solution at 1.0 mg/mL in phosphate-buffered saline (pH 7.4) containing 150 mM sodium chloride, 0.02% sodium azide, and 50% glycerol. The 50 µL pack size is intended for detection of the endogenous 65 kDa glutamic acid decarboxylase isoform (GAD-65, also known as glutamate decarboxylase 2) in Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, and it has been validated by the supplier for Western blot (WB) and immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence (ICC/IF) applications. The antibody specifically recognises total GAD2 protein, making it suitable for neuroscience workflows that resolve the cytosolic 65 kDa isoform from the heavier 67 kDa GAD1 product. For handling, the vial is shipped at 4 °C and should be aliquoted upon arrival and stored at –20 °C, with repeated freeze/thaw cycles avoided to preserve activity; the 0.02% sodium azide content also serves as a microbial preservative for short-term bench use. Researchers can pair the reagent with standard HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies, as no fluorophore or enzyme is already attached to the primary. Each lot is provided as a polyclonal preparation purified by affinity chromatography against the immunogen, supporting batch-to-batch reproducibility for studies of GABAergic neurons, pancreatic β-cell autoantigen research, and related neurological or metabolic investigations.
