Anti-GAD2 Antibody

Raised in rabbit against the GAD2 target, this unconjugated polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied as a 100 µl aliquot at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% Sodium Azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, simplifying handling at standard refrigeration conditions. It detects Glutamic Acid Decarboxylase 2, the 65 kDa isoform that catalyzes decarboxylation of L-glutamate to GABA and is most strongly expressed in GABAergic neurons of the central nervous system and in pancreatic islet beta cells. Validated applications include Western blot for protein-level expression studies and immunohistochemistry on fixed tissue sections, with reactivity confirmed against human, mouse, and rat samples.
