The product is a rabbit polyclonal antibody targeting the gamma-2 subunit of the type A gamma-aminobutyric acid receptor (GABRG2), offered by Antibodies.com. Validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows, the reagent recognizes endogenous GABRG2 in human, mouse, and rat tissue samples. The unconjugated format gives laboratories flexibility to pair it with secondary antibodies of their choice for chromogenic, fluorescent, or chemiluminescent readouts. Supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal serum fraction, the reagent supports probing of inhibitory GABAergic signaling in neuronal lysates and fixed brain sections.

GABRG2 is a clinically relevant neuroscience target: loss-of-function, missense, and trafficking-impaired variants in the encoding gene have been linked to genetic epilepsy syndromes including generalized epilepsy with febrile seizures plus (GEFS+), childhood absence epilepsy, and familial febrile seizures. Groups investigating seizure susceptibility, GABA-A receptor subunit assembly, postsynaptic clustering at inhibitory synapses, and the modulation of inhibitory neurotransmission commonly rely on this antibody for expression profiling and localization studies across rodent and human tissue.

For handling, store at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve epitope affinity across multiple experiments. The vial is intended for research use only.
