Anti-GABARAP Antibody

Routinely used as an autophagy marker in cell biology and neuroscience, this unconjugated GABARAP polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is produced in rabbit and supplied at 1 mg/mL in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. The 100 µL volume provides laboratories with enough material to optimize multiple western blots and staining protocols before reordering.

The reagent is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence on human, mouse, and rat samples, allowing consistent comparison of GABARAP expression across model systems. GABARAP is a member of the ATG8 ubiquitin-like protein family that contributes to autophagosome maturation, membrane tethering, and intracellular vesicle movement, so the antibody is commonly applied to monitor ATG8 lipidation, autophagosome closure, and cytoplasmic puncta formation under starvation, rapamycin, or chloroquine treatment, as well as to study GABA receptor trafficking at inhibitory synapses in neuronal tissue.

Suggested starting dilutions are 1:500 to 1:2000 for western blot and 1:50 to 1:200 for immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry, with further titration recommended for each sample preparation. The polyclonal format broadens epitope coverage across the full-length target, while the unconjugated format leaves the antibody free for downstream labeling with HRP, biotin, or fluorophore conjugates chosen by the end user.
