Anti-GABAA Rβ2 Antibody

This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against the GABA-A receptor beta 2 subunit (GABRB2), a required component for assembly and cell-surface trafficking of most synaptic GABA_A receptors. Beta 2 is the predominant beta isoform across many forebrain circuits and shapes receptor pharmacology, including modulation at the classical benzodiazepine binding site.

The reagent is supplied as 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml solution in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, unconjugated for flexible pairing with secondary detection reagents. Validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples, it supports studies of inhibitory synapse composition, subunit-specific assembly and trafficking, and changes in GABAergic signaling associated with epilepsy, anxiety, and neurodevelopmental disorders. Storage at -20°C in working aliquots is recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve binding activity.
