Anti-FXN Antibody

A polyclonal antibody that recognizes human frataxin (FXN), a mitochondrial iron-sulfur cluster assembly protein distributed by Antibodies.com. Deficiency or reduced expression of FXN underlies Friedreich's ataxia, an autosomal recessive neurodegenerative disorder also associated with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and diabetes mellitus. This rabbit-derived, unconjugated reagent is supplied as 100 µl of stock solution and validated for western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF) workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples. Investigators studying mitochondrial iron homeostasis, ISC biosynthesis, oxidative stress responses, and Friedreich's ataxia models use this reagent to detect endogenous frataxin in cell lysates, tissue sections, and cultured neurons. Applications include probing FXN knockdown phenotypes, characterizing patient-derived fibroblasts and iPSC-derived neurons, and validating gene therapy rescue experiments.
