FURIN is a calcium-dependent subtilisin-like proprotein convertase (PCSK3) that cleaves precursor proteins on the C-terminal side of paired basic residues within the consensus motif R-X-K/R-R. This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry applications on human and mouse samples, supporting studies of prohormone processing, receptor maturation, and viral glycoprotein activation. The reagent is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, and is packaged in a 100 µl vial sized for multiple experiments. Store aliquots frozen at -20 degrees C and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles; sodium azide is included as a preservative. The unconjugated format gives researchers flexibility to choose secondary antibodies and detection chemistries appropriate for their workflow, including chemiluminescent Western blot on whole-cell lysates and IHC staining of fixed tissue sections from mouse models and human clinical specimens.
