Anti-FUCA2 Antibody

Raised in rabbits against human FUCA2 protein, this polyclonal IgG reagent allows detection of alpha-L-fucosidase 2 by Western blot and immunohistochemistry. FUCA2 is a lysosomal hydrolase that cleaves terminal alpha-L-fucose residues from glycoproteins and glycolipids; it is the plasma-secreted paralog of FUCA1, whose deficiency is associated with fucosidosis. Supplied as 100 µL of unconjugated rabbit IgG in a vial, the preparation covers several Western blot membranes and multiple tissue sections at standard working dilutions.

Human FUCA2 expression has been documented in kidney, brain, and certain secretory epithelia, and the enzyme has also been characterized as a circulating plasma activity. Published studies link the protein to Helicobacter pylori adhesion events in gastric mucosa and to tumor-microenvironment biology. On Western blot the enzyme runs near 54 kDa under reducing SDS-PAGE conditions, detectable with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies. For immunohistochemistry, citrate-buffer antigen retrieval with DAB on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded human kidney sections has been reported.
