Anti-FTO Antibody

Raised in rabbit and affinity-purified by epitope-specific immunogen chromatography, this polyclonal IgG preparation is directed against the Fat Mass and Obesity-associated (FTO) protein. Distributed by Antibodies.com, the antiserum recognizes endogenous FTO and was generated using a synthetic peptide derived from the N-terminal region of human FTO. The unconjugated antibody is supplied at 1 mg/mL in PBS containing 50% glycerol, 0.5% BSA and 0.02% sodium azide, and is provided here in a 50 µL vial. The reagent is validated for Western blotting and ELISA in human, mouse and rat samples, making it well suited to studies of RNA N6-methyladenosine demethylation and adipogenesis-related pathways. For routine use it is shipped at 4 °C and should be aliquoted for long-term storage at −20 °C, with repeated freeze/thaw cycles avoided to preserve activity. As an affinity-purified polyclonal reagent rather than a monoclonal, it is intended for research use only and is not validated for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
