Ferritin light chain (FTL) is one of the two subunit types that assemble into the 24-mer ferritin shell responsible for intracellular iron sequestration and storage. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com binds the FTL subunit and has been validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on Human, Mouse, and Rat samples.
The antibody supports translational studies that compare iron-handling across species and tissue types, including ferroptosis-related pathway research and investigations of cytosolic iron homeostasis. Supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum, it is intended for probing ferritin assembly in cell lysates and fixed tissue sections, and for characterising L-ferritin expression patterns under conditions of altered iron availability, oxidative stress, or hepatic and neuronal iron-loading models where light-chain subunit balance is of interest.
