Anti-FSHR Antibody

From Antibodies.com, this Rabbit polyclonal antibody recognises FSHR (follicle-stimulating hormone receptor) and is unconjugated. It is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) applications, and reacts with Human, Mouse and Rat samples. The antibody was raised against recombinant full length Human FSHR and detects endogenous levels of FSHR protein.

The reagent is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% Sodium Azide and 50% Glycerol. The affinity-purified antibody has a purity greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE, and recognises a target with a molecular weight of approximately 78 kDa.

FSHR is a 695 amino acid G-protein coupled receptor. FSH binds to the receptor in a hand-clasp fashion through its α and β subunits, with the α subunit involved in FSH binding and the β subunit stabilising the interaction. Missense mutations in the FSHR gene have been associated with reduced FSH binding affinity and hypergonadotropic ovarian dysgenesis (ODG) in females, while not appearing to affect male fertility. FSHR mutations have also been linked to ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, a condition characterised by multiple serous and hemorrhagic follicular cysts lined by luteinized cells.
