FSCN1 (Fascin-1) is a 55 kDa actin-bundling protein that organizes filamentous actin into parallel bundles within filopodia, invadopodia, and other membrane protrusions. Because fascin-1 expression is markedly upregulated in many metastatic carcinomas — including breast, gastric, colorectal, and lung cancers — it has become a widely studied marker of invasive tumor behavior and cytoskeletal remodeling during epithelial-mesenchymal transition.

This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against FSCN1 and validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry. It detects the human, mouse, and rat proteins and is supplied as 50 µl of unconjugated reagent at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. The polyclonal format enables recognition of multiple epitopes on the fascin-1 molecule, which can improve signal recovery in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections where antigen masking is common.

In practice, researchers apply anti-FSCN1 antibodies to characterize filopodial architecture in cell migration assays, profile fascin-1 distribution across tumor tissue microarrays, and confirm overexpression in carcinoma cell lines by Western blot. The unconjugated format also permits pairing with custom fluorophore or enzyme conjugates tailored to multiplex staining panels. Storage at -20°C in the supplied glycerol buffer preserves activity for long-term use, and small aliquots are recommended to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles of the working stock.
