This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets FPGT (Fucose-1-Phosphate Guanylyltransferase), the terminal enzyme of the de novo and salvage pathways that together supply GDP-L-fucose to cellular fucosylation reactions. The immunogen-derived reagent was raised in rabbit and is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows on human samples, allowing detection of endogenous FPGT protein in both denatured lysates and formalin-fixed tissue sections.

FPGT catalyzes the condensation of GTP with beta-L-fucose-1-phosphate to generate the activated nucleotide-sugar donor GDP-fucose, the substrate consumed by Golgi-resident fucosyltransferases that decorate N- and O-linked glycans. Altered expression of FPGT has been investigated in the context of glycoconjugate remodeling, selectin ligand biosynthesis, and congenital disorders of glycosylation, making a specific antibody useful for confirming transcript-level findings at the protein level across matched patient and control tissues.

Supplied as a 100 µL volume of polyclonal antiserum with no fluorophore or enzyme conjugation, the reagent can be paired with HRP-, biotin-, or Alexa Fluor-conjugated secondary antibodies to match existing imaging or chemiluminescence protocols. Because polyclonal reagents recognize multiple epitopes on FPGT, they often yield stronger signals than monoclonal alternatives when probing low-abundance targets, which is helpful in small biopsy specimens where limited material restricts antigen recovery.
