Raised in sheep and supplied through Antibodies.com as a primary antibody in 1 ml of neat serum, this polyclonal reagent is directed against Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH), the gonadotrophin secreted by the anterior pituitary that drives follicular development and spermatogenesis. The immunogen used for immunization was purified Sheep Follicle Stimulating Hormone, and the resulting antiserum specifically recognises FSH from sheep, pig, deer and other domestic ruminants, making it well suited to endocrine and reproductive-biology research in livestock species. The reagent is unconjugated, IgG-based (whole antiserum), and is intended primarily for use in Radioimmunoassay (RIA), where a working dilution range of approximately 1/30,000 to 1/180,000 is recommended; titration in the end-user's own system with appropriate positive and negative controls is advised, as the antibody has not been validated for every possible application. Because the material is provided as neat liquid antiserum rather than a purified or lyophilised fraction, no reconstitution step is required and small aliquots should be prepared to avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles. The product should be stored at 2–8 °C short term and frozen for long-term stability, in line with standard serum-handling practice for polyclonal antibodies from the Antibodies.com catalogue. Distributed by AFMS, the reagent is offered for research use only and is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
