Flotillin-2 is a ~47 kDa integral membrane protein of the prohibitin homology domain family that anchors noncaveolar lipid raft microdomains on the plasma membrane and serves as a widely used marker for studying raft-dependent signaling, endocytic trafficking, and cell-cell adhesion. This rabbit IgG polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against recombinant human FLOT2 and recognizes endogenous levels of the protein in human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting cross-species comparison of membrane biology and raft organization in cell or tissue models. The unconjugated IgG is supplied in a 50 µl vial and is validated for Western blot analysis, where a band near 47 kDa is expected, as well as for immunofluorescence imaging of the protein's plasma membrane and cell-cell contact localization. Because the reagent is unconjugated, researchers can pair it with a compatible enzyme-, fluorescent-, or biotin-conjugated secondary antibody of their choice to match their preferred detection chemistry. Store the antibody at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light when downstream conjugates are fluorophore-based. Typical applications include mapping lipid raft distribution in cultured cells, profiling FLOT2 expression across tissue lysates, and investigating the protein's role in caveolar scaffolding, endocytosis, and intracellular signaling cascades.
