Raised in rabbit against the Flk-1 receptor, this polyclonal unconjugated antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied at 100 µl and supports Western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and ELISA workflows across human and mouse sample types. Flk-1, the murine homolog of human VEGFR-2 (also called KDR), is a receptor tyrosine kinase expressed predominantly on vascular endothelial cells. It mediates VEGF-A signaling that drives angiogenesis, vasculogenesis, and vascular remodeling during embryonic development, wound healing, and tumor neovascularization, making it a widely used marker for endothelial lineage tracing and angiogenic pathway studies.

Researchers apply this reagent to localize endothelial cells in tissue sections, probe receptor activation and downstream phosphorylation in cell lysates, and characterize angiogenic responses in tumor xenograft and ischemia models. The unconjugated format allows flexible pairing with HRP, biotin, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies according to the chosen detection chemistry. For best results, store refrigerated at 4 degrees C for short-term working aliquots; for longer storage, freeze at -20 degrees C and protect from light. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided to preserve binding activity across multiple experiments.
