FLCN (Folliculin) is a tumor suppressor protein encoded on chromosome 17p11.2, with loss-of-function variants linked to Birt-Hogg-Dubé syndrome and the associated renal, cutaneous, and pulmonary manifestations of that disorder. This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets FLCN for detection in western blot and immunofluorescence workflows and is supplied as an unconjugated preparation in a 100 µl vial.

The antibody was raised in rabbit and validated for reactivity against human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting comparative studies of FLCN expression across standard model systems. FLCN participates in nutrient-sensing signaling through its interactions with FNIP1 and FNIP2 and modulates AMPK and mTORC1 activity at the lysosomal surface, so investigators working on these pathways use FLCN antibodies to probe subcellular localization, expression changes under metabolic or oxidative stress, and co-distribution with pathway partners such as AMPK, Rag GTPases, and TFEB.

For western blot applications, prepare cell or tissue lysates in standard RIPA buffer and probe membranes at typical polyclonal antibody dilutions; for immunofluorescence, fix cultured cells with paraformaldehyde and detect with fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies. The unconjugated format allows flexible pairing with HRP, Alexa Fluor, or other reporter conjugates selected by the end user, and aliquoting upon first use helps preserve reagent stability across multiple experiments.
