Polyclonal antibody raised in rabbit against fukutin (FKTN), a Golgi-resident ribitol-5-phosphate cytidylyltransferase required for proper glycosylation of alpha-dystroglycan in skeletal muscle and neural tissue. This unconjugated IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as 100 µl of liquid stock and validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows investigating dystroglycanopathy, Fukuyama congenital muscular dystrophy (FCMD), and related glycosylation defects. The antibody recognizes human fukutin and supports research into dystrophin-glycoprotein complex integrity, neuronal migration during cortical development, and patient-derived samples carrying known FCMD founder mutations. Recommended storage at 4 °C in working aliquots to preserve antibody activity across repeated freeze-thaw cycles; the vial format makes this reagent convenient for routine bench use in laboratories focused on muscular dystrophy and protein glycosylation studies.
