Anti-FIS1 Antibody

From Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal reagent recognizes mitochondrial fission 1 (FIS1), a small outer-membrane adaptor that recruits the dynamin-related GTPase DRP1 to sites of mitochondrial scission. The unconjugated antiserum is provided at 100 µl per vial and has been validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence on human samples.

FIS1 participates in mitochondrial dynamics together with MFF and MiD49/MiD51, shaping organelle morphology and influencing apoptosis, mitophagy, and peroxisomal biogenesis. Studies of neurodegeneration, cardiac ischemia, and metabolic syndrome routinely probe FIS1 expression in cultured cells and tissue cryosections to gauge fission activity.
