Filaggrin is a filament-aggregating protein that binds keratin intermediate filaments within the stratum corneum, playing a central role in the formation of the cornified cell envelope and the maintenance of the epidermal barrier. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com recognizes native filaggrin and is validated for western blot detection across human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting dermatology research, atopic dermatitis studies, and investigations of ichthyosis vulgaris.
The reagent is supplied as 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide, at approximately pH 7.2. As a polyclonal antibody, it binds multiple epitopes on the filaggrin target, which can improve signal robustness in skin tissue lysates and other epithelial samples. Researchers examining FLG gene expression, profilaggrin processing, keratinocyte differentiation, or barrier dysfunction in inflammatory skin conditions commonly apply this reagent in standard western blot workflows.
