Anti-FH Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com recognizes Factor H (FH), a 155 kDa plasma glycoprotein that serves as the principal soluble regulator of the alternative pathway of the complement cascade. Factor H controls complement activation on host surfaces by acting as a cofactor for Factor I-mediated cleavage of C3b and by accelerating the decay of the alternative pathway C3 convertase. Mutations and polymorphisms in CFH, the gene encoding Factor H, are linked to atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome, C3 glomerulopathy, dense deposit disease, and age-related macular degeneration, which is why anti-FH antibodies are used across nephrology, ophthalmology, and immunology laboratories.

The reagent is supplied as an unconjugated polyclonal antibody in a 100 µl vial and is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows.
