Fibroblast growth factor basic (FGF2) is a heparin-binding cytokine that drives proliferation, migration, and differentiation across mesoderm- and neuroectoderm-derived cell types, and it is a routine marker in angiogenesis, stem cell, and tissue-repair studies. This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against FGF Basic and supplied as an unconjugated, azide-stabilized stock for use in Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human samples.

The antibody is provided at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, which permits direct dilution into standard blocking and incubation buffers without prior buffer exchange. Keep the 100 µl vial refrigerated for active use and freeze at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles of the glycerol-containing solution.

Recommended applications include Western blot detection of endogenous FGF Basic in cell lysates and immunohistochemistry localization in formalin-fixed tissue sections. Because the host species is rabbit and the conjugate is unconjugated, the reagent pairs cleanly with HRP- or fluorophore-labeled anti-rabbit secondaries and with rabbit-on-rabbit detection kits where endogenous biotin or mouse background is a concern.
