A polyclonal antibody raised in rabbit against fibroblast growth factor 20 (FGF-20), supplied by Antibodies.com as a 100 µl aliquot of unconjugated antiserum. FGF-20 is a neurotrophic factor belonging to the FGF family, best characterized for its role in supporting the survival of midbrain dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra, which has made it a molecule of interest in Parkinson's disease research. The antigen also contributes to inner ear development, where it is involved in the differentiation of sensory hair cells in the cochlea.

This reagent is validated for Western blot (WB) and ELISA applications and cross-reacts with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, making it useful across common preclinical model systems. Provided unconjugated, it can be paired with a secondary antibody of the researcher's choice for chromogenic, fluorescent, or HRP-based detection. Polyclonal host origin provides recognition of multiple epitopes on the FGF-20 target, which can be advantageous when working with samples where the antigen may be partially degraded or present in low abundance.

Typical uses include probing FGF-20 expression levels in neuronal cell lines and tissue lysates, evaluating the neurotrophic factor in dopaminergic neuron differentiation assays, and characterizing FGF-20 expression in cochlear or hair-cell development studies. Store aliquots refrigerated for short-term use or freeze for longer-term storage, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Sufficient volume is provided for multiple Western blot membranes and several ELISA plates.
