Clone 7H8 from Antibodies.com is an unconjugated mouse monoclonal IgG that recognizes FEN1 (Flap Structure-Specific Endonuclease 1), a structure-specific nuclease essential for Okazaki fragment maturation during lagging-strand DNA replication and for long-patch base excision repair (BER) in mammals. Cross-reactivity with the mouse and rat orthologs extends use of the reagent to comparative rodent studies alongside human cell line work, supporting programs in DNA repair biology, replication stress, and genome stability research.
Each vial contains 50 µl of purified antibody in 0.1 M Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4), 150 mM NaCl, 0.2% sodium azide, and 50% glycerol. The unconjugated format allows pairing with HRP, alkaline phosphatase, biotin, or fluorophore-labeled secondary reagents chosen by the end user. Validated applications are Western blot (WB) for resolving endogenous FEN1 in whole-cell lysates and immunocytochemistry (ICC) on fixed cultured cells, with the supplied volume sized for several mini-gel immunoblots and multiple chamber-slide staining runs.
For best activity, store frozen at -20°C in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles; the included 50% glycerol cryoprotectant protects the IgG from ice crystal damage, while the 0.2% sodium azide suppresses microbial contamination. Briefly equilibrate the vial on ice before opening to reduce condensation, and protect from light if a fluorophore conjugate is being prepared downstream. The Tris-glycine buffer is compatible with standard SDS-PAGE transfer conditions and with the paraformaldehyde fixation workflows used for ICC, and the demonstrated reactivity across human, mouse, and rat orthologs makes this antibody equally useful in xenograft, knockout mouse, and rat tissue-injury models where FEN1-dependent DNA repair pathways are under investigation.
