Produced in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated IgG, this polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com targets human FCGR3A (Fc gamma receptor IIIa, also known as CD16a), a low-affinity activating receptor for the Fc region of immunoglobulin G. Each vial contains 100 µl of reagent validated for Western blot detection of the target protein in human samples.

FCGR3A is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed primarily on natural killer cells, macrophages, and a subset of monocytes, where it mediates antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) by linking IgG-coated target cells to effector lymphocytes. The receptor is encoded within the FCGR gene cluster on chromosome 1q23, and well-characterized polymorphisms such as V158F (corresponding to V176F in the full-length precursor) alter IgG binding affinity. This property has been used to explain inter-individual variation in clinical responses to therapeutic monoclonal antibodies, including rituximab and trastuzumab.

Because this reagent is unconjugated and polyclonal, it offers flexibility for laboratories that need to choose their own secondary labels. It can be paired with HRP, biotin, or fluorophore-conjugated anti-rabbit secondaries for Western blot workflows, and the polyclonal format provides broader epitope coverage that is often useful for immunoprecipitation or mapping FCGR3A expression across immune cell populations in basic immunology research, NK cell biology, autoimmune disease studies, and the pharmacodynamic evaluation of IgG-based therapeutics.
