Raised in rabbit against the nucleolar protein fibrillarin, this unconjugated polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com recognises a conserved region of the ~36 kDa target and is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, immunoprecipitation, and RNA immunoprecipitation workflows.

Fibrillarin is the catalytic methyltransferase subunit of box C/D small nucleolar ribonucleoproteins and sits in the dense fibrillar component of the nucleolus, where it directs 2'-O-methylation of pre-rRNA during ribosome biogenesis. Because of this tight nucleolar localisation, the antibody is widely used to visualise nucleoli in fixed cells, to immunoprecipitate C/D snoRNP complexes from whole cell lysates, and as a reference marker when monitoring nucleolar stress or changes in ribosome biogenesis across treatment conditions.

Reactivity has been confirmed against human, mouse, and rat samples in the listed applications. The reagent ships as 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, a buffer combination that preserves activity during storage at -20 °C and minimises damage from freeze-thaw cycles. Aliquot upon first receipt to limit repeated freeze-thaw events, and titrate empirically against your own sample preparation.
