Raised in rabbit against the human Fatty Acid Synthase (FASN) protein, this unconjugated polyclonal reagent is supplied by Antibodies.com as a 100 µl vial sized for routine immunodetection work. FASN is the homodimeric, multifunctional lipogenic enzyme that drives de novo fatty acid synthesis from acetyl-CoA and malonyl-CoA to palmitate, and it is widely tracked in metabolic and oncology research because of its overexpression in carcinomas of the breast, prostate, and colorectum, as well as in steatotic liver tissue.

Validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence on human samples, the antibody typically resolves as a band near 270 kDa on reduced lysates and produces cytoplasmic staining in FFPE tissue sections. Aliquot upon arrival and store at -20 °C to limit freeze-thaw damage to the polyclonal pool, then dilute in an appropriate blocking buffer for each application. Reactivity has been characterized for human tissue, with use in cultured cancer cell lines for IF also documented in the wider literature. For research use only.
