The Fatty Acid Synthase (FASN) target is a homodimeric multifunctional enzyme that drives de novo lipogenesis, converting acetyl-CoA and malonyl-CoA into palmitate through a NADPH-dependent reaction sequence. This polyclonal reagent, raised in rabbit hosts and supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated preparation, supports detection of endogenous FASN across human, mouse, and rat sample types in Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows.
FASN expression is a frequent readout in studies of cancer metabolism, where elevated lipogenesis has been linked to aggressive tumor phenotypes in breast, prostate, and colorectal models, as well as in metabolic disease research covering hepatic steatosis, obesity, and insulin resistance. The 100 µl aliquot volume provides ample reagent for multiple blot membranes or tissue sections, and the polyclonal format offers broader epitope coverage useful when monitoring full-length protein or processed variants under varying expression conditions.
Store at -20°C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light to preserve antibody integrity. The unconjugated format makes this reagent compatible with secondary antibody labeling of choice, HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-conjugated, enabling flexibility across chromogenic and fluorescence-based detection platforms in cell culture lysates and tissue sections.
