Anti-FASN Antibody

The Antibodies.com polyclonal reagent targets Fatty Acid Synthase (FASN), the homodimeric multifunctional enzyme that catalyzes the de novo biosynthesis of long-chain saturated fatty acids from acetyl-CoA and malonyl-CoA using NADPH as a reductant. Raised in rabbit and supplied as an IgG preparation at 50 µl per vial, this unconjugated primary antibody is validated for Western blot detection of the endogenous ~270 kDa FASN protein in cell and tissue lysates.

FASN sits at the center of de novo lipogenesis and is widely studied in metabolism, oncology, and metabolic-disease research, where elevated expression is a hallmark of many proliferative and steatotic contexts. The reagent recognizes the human, mouse, and rat orthologs, supporting cross-species investigation of fatty-acid synthesis regulation in cultured cells and primary tissue samples from animal models and patients.

For Western blot, samples are resolved by SDS-PAGE, transferred to nitrocellulose or PVDF membranes, and probed with the antibody followed by an HRP-conjugated secondary reagent. Aliquot upon receipt to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and store at -20 °C for long-term stability; avoid repeated freeze-thaw of the working stock.
