FASN (Fatty Acid Synthase) is a key lipogenic enzyme that catalyzes the de novo synthesis of long-chain fatty acids from acetyl-CoA and malonyl-CoA substrates. Elevated FASN expression is frequently documented in carcinomas of the breast, prostate, colon, and ovary, where it fuels membrane biosynthesis, signaling lipid production, and energy storage in rapidly proliferating tumor cells. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal IgG antibody from Antibodies.com is validated for western blot detection of endogenous FASN in human, mouse, and rat sample lysates, supporting research in cancer metabolism, obesity, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and insulin resistance. Supplied as 100 μL of liquid antibody, the polyclonal format increases the chance of recognizing multiple epitopes on the ~270 kDa FASN polypeptide for consistent band visualization. For best stability, aliquot upon receipt and store at -20 °C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Intended for research use only.
